Thanks for the post, this article further demonstrates that this is really a religious war, an Islamic war against the modern and Western world... this is a concept many of us here in the U.S. have some difficulty grasping, since such a whacko idea is not part of our thinking vocabulary, it seems inconceivable, but we should make no mistake about it..... Some of the anti-Israeli posters here are simply Judophobes, but others are sincere, well meaning people, but misguided, failing to see reality. For the former, nothing will convince them. For the latter, the article you posted should be must reading. Even if we refuse to see the war with the Palestinians – and with the Al-Qaeda types – as a religious one, they still see it as one. In their (dominant, it seems) version of Islam, the only way to solve the problem is Jihad, which happens to mean “Holy War”. To them, a settlement or compromise is a betrayal of God’s will.
