It's a true "catch 22!" It's a "fine line." Sorry for the cliches! :)But I believe Bush is correct in trying, and I pray that the US succeeds with Bush at the helm! I believe the consequences, can be much worse by ignoring what is happening in the Middle East. Our Nation has a history of dealing with the things! Our National Security must be maintained, and our Citizens protected!

"But I fear that this Middle East problem is bigger than all of us mortals, including the world's sole superpower. If the Palestinian people can bring themselves to countenance an adjacent Israeli state, peace can be achieved."

WHY WE SUPPORT ISRAEL

MSI,

Here's an interesting thought. We spent $11 Billion on the Marshall Plan after WW II to rebuild Europe and prevent the spread of Communism. Since the Six Day War, when the Israelis attacked a US ship in international waters we've given Israel $100 Billion in aid, most of it military. Why?

Here's what I think is an interesting answer:

Take Lebanon, for instance, the country was a big financial center, Lebanese are good at that. Bu a constant state of war does not help a potential financial center.

Hence, someone must have concocted this state of war nor to allow Lebanon to blossom as a financial center. To whom does it interest a competitive financial center?

Easy answer: To London and New York. From there you can take your own conclusions of whom is financing the constant state of war in the Lebanon and its adjacencies.

It is all about perceptions. It is all about setting, not the perceptions of you and me. But about the perceptions of the millions. The mass. The J6Ps.

Israel did a great job of disrupting Lebanese politics for a couple decades. Decades that the bankers in New York and London took advantage of. Maybe that's why we subside Israel so profusely with the public's money? In order to create profits for the bankers? Plausible, at least....
