Mystery solved, profile sure looks different from 6.0 which I can see logging on from my daughters machine.
I've been using IE 4.72 on my desktop which hasn't always been the case.
Some time ago I attempted to upgrade the OS from 98 to XP (a PII) with typical (Ugh!) results.
Ended up going back to 98 with the recovery disk and orig settings which probably included a my current version of IE.
I had previously had previously used wallpaper (using code you posted in the header) on my profile without incident, but didn't tie the problem into the above sequence of events.
Anyway thanks, now off to upgrade IE and be done with it!
