What time was the election "called"? How did this affect the vote? How did it disenfranchise anyone?

Here's an example. If a voter in California thought that Florida had gone for Gore, would he or she not go out to vote for Bush, thinking all was lost? Wouldn't that voter be smart enough to realize that California's electoral votes were still in the balance and could determine the outcome of the election?

Call me a sore loser if you want, but I'm not the one who brought this up. I was merely trying to point out the facts of a situation that conservatives keep bringing up here to discredit Democrats.
