Well, I always wanted to understand all those fancy terms corporate bigwigs have been throwing around for the past few years. Now, thanks to the current issue of Barron's, I do!!!

Regards,
John

EBDITA = Earnings before I tricked the dumb auditor.

EBIT = Earnings before irregularities and tampering.

CEO = Chief Embezzlement Officer.

CFO = Corporate Fraud Officer.

NAV = Normal Andersen valuation.

EPS = Eventual prison sentence.

And from former Fed governor Laurence Meyer:

"If al Qaeda truly wanted to disrupt the U.S. economy, it would dispatch ships full of accountants to our ports instead of suicide bombers."

Stockman Scott: I advised my sister in NY to sell WCOM at 48 because I took one look at Bernie and surmised (correctly) that he looked like he was not my kind of guy to be running a company that I wanted to have my client's/relative's money invested in if I could help it.It's called basic Common Sense!
