Al >You expect the SA share to take a hit next week?

Maybe, maybe not. My reason for not wanting to invest here is because of my lack of confidence in the local economy and the prospects for local business. Most of the big and definitely the best SA companies are now either domiciled in London or are listed on the LSE or the NYSE which, as far as I am concerned, means that the remainder are not worth considering.

Anyway, if USD strengthens the rand will devalue and so gold stocks may even do well locally even though POG falls in dollars. The truth is that, how ever much no-one wants US dollars, the very worst currency is the rand --- and for obvious reasons. So, whatever happens in this world, good or bad, we in SA know that our currency will devalue. At least that's one "constant" one can count on at this time of uncertainty.
