Having observed many teachers, sadly no, they do not. But since the general population is much less than intellectually lively, and since teachers are drawn from the general population, it doesn't exactly come as a surprise. Although I think the intellectually lively may be found more often in education than elsewhere. Part of the charm of teaching, is that you get paid to keep learning, if you choose to keep continually renewing yourself and your teaching.
