I'd consider using the funds as a contrarian indicator. Seems to me that they collect money from J6P, and do allow those other entities, who operate with an advantage, to scoop his cash up with a larger bucket.

On the other hand the fund managers do have some real power to push for some of the changes that have been discussed here. It's in their best interests because if they don't, they'll have a tough time collecting investors in this climate.

That said, it may be time to setup some sort of daytrading association complete with a website and discussion forums, as the recent discussions on SI must be making some people a little nervous. SI and Infospace being in the shape they are, I wouldn't be surprised to see it shut down or otherwise removed from cyberspace. We'd have to regroup on yahoo!!

After recent history on the markets, nothing would surprise me anymore.
