If you quoted me any more out of context, I'd have to accuse you of being a highly-trained professional journalist. I did not claim the founders put those words in the pledge. I was responding to someone who wondered if I would be equally comfortable with specific words used to identify God or Gods in other cultures. You know, there are a lot of people who DO think it's un-American to be un-Godly. Although I am not one of them, there are historical foundations for their view. I think that bias already existed in the culture as a whole and, as such, calling them extremists is off the mark. Their views may be extremely different from yours but many people might find the life you've chosen to live more deserving of the title "extremist". I don't have much problem with the legacy thing.
