Might as well make this thread useful...Does anyone know if either spouse can cash in and close the IRA account of the other spouse??? Or 401k? Doesn't the person holding the IRA (etc) account have complete control of that account? Anyone know where to get information on the laws?

Didn't happen to me, but has happened to someone I know. He just found out, and let me tell you, he is NOT amused. Don't think the brokerage holding the now closed account is going to be either soon.

Seeing your "chart" made me think of it, and ask the question.....
