I think the norm is closer to 8% if I'm not mistaken. I think that includes inflation and and dividends both which are lower than average at this time. Ex- dividends and inflation I think it is 5% which is close to average earnings growth. I could be wrong. These are the numbers I recall seeing based on the last 100 years.
