ECB, BOE to Keep Interest Rate Unchanged Thursday, Analysts Say

...``The ECB has grown more concerned about the economy,'' said Carsten Klude, an economist at M.M. Warburg & Co. in Hamburg, who expects the bank to deliver a ``small'' rate increase in the fourth quarter. ``The outlook for exporters and for the economy in general has worsened.''

The ECB trimmed its key rate 1.5 percentage points last year. The Bank of England cut borrowing costs 2 percentage points. The U.S. Federal Reserve pared rates 11 times, to 1.75 percent, a 40- year low.

The Bank of England is concerned house prices are rising at their quickest pace on record and retail sales are growing at their fastest rate in almost a decade. The central bank will probably lift rates in August and push them to 4.5 percent by the end of the year, economists said...
