Robert, a low equity put call ratio (0.5 or lower) combined with a high index put call ratio (above 1) generally means the market is not going to rally. The thinking is that the pros buy the index options and are more often right than J6P who buys equity options and is more often wrong.

The readings are not extreme enough for a large move so I am guessing a weak down move early in the week followed buy a weak recovery.
