VOD over broadband like xDSL will probably happen much slower, because frankly speaking it's not fast enough right now. So they may implement it today, but it won't catch on as quickly as VOD over digital cable service, because of the ease of use and convenience factor.

As far as how long to wait until VOD is accepted, you'll only have to wait until we can get the newer releases on VOD. That's the real driver of demand. I'm willing to wait an extra month beyond Blockbuster to get new releases on VOD, but I doubt the average consumer will wait. If they can solve that issue, then as far as convenience goes, you can't beat it...and it's 25 cents cheaper and no later charges for forgotten returns. So acceptance will come only as quick as digital cable service penetration allows and getting newer releases allows.
