Foreign entities can bring swift growth to the Russian agriculture system. At the moment they can incur 49-year leases. But that won't be adequate, as Putin knows. He has stated that the recent freeing up of farmland from the Soviet shackles is a good reform "for now". Look for many more critical reforms over the next several years. But you'll have to dig a little, as the liberal media misses or ignores this important news...

My understanding is that non-citizens cannot own real estate in most countries. As for North America, in Canada you can and in Mexico you can't.
