And one important thing I missed out in that scenario, is that we the West have to encourage the moderate Muslims to pick up arms and fight the fundamentalists. We need to make them realize that it is the fundamentalists who are the against the Muslim faith and are out to destroy it. We have to campaign with them and convince them that if they took up arms and destroyed the fundamentalists, then they would have saved Islam and hence it is going to be their jihad. Already I have American Muslim friends (African American Muslims included) who are convinced that Saddam is not a true Muslim. Why do they say so? It is because according to them a true Muslim does not attack a true Muslim. Iraq, a Muslim country should not have attacked Kuwait also another Muslim country. So there is some very interesting dynamics going on here. I am sure that the US govt. intelligence has already figured this out and hence we see Bush ranting about Iraq all the time. Israel also has a very critical role to play in this. If Palestine elects a new leader then Israel will be forced to talk peace which means they will have to withdraw and give up land whether it is the 1967 line or the 2000 line.
