Wolf,

A sincere thanks for compiling that list. I've only been an SI member for 2 years now, but some of those names do bring back memories.

An additional thanks to you for being a voice of mature sanity through the sea of turbulent emotion, that is DMX.

Thanks, too, Wolf. for the list et al. I've been away for, wow, 400 posts.
Your posts seem to be drawn from a spring of true originality, even this one which covers history.
I look at my <Subjects> list today, and DMX is the only one to have stayed on it, since I first joined, in '98. Why? Simple - the continuing quality and openness of the discussion alone is worth the price of my original DIME purchase. Great, that means the shares are free.
Altho I concur with others that EU is going to be a lot slower going than expected, I did a little digging (scratching is more like it) into the Italian connection. The distributor-company's web site for Italchimici is currently in construction but they do have a profile in English. The latest financial information provided relates to 1997, the year after the company
was bought back and made private via a management buy out. At that time it was a subsidiary
of Fisons.
The turnover reported in 1997 was $23.8 million, profit $1 million and net worth was $6.6 million.
DMX have selected another rather small distribution company.
This strategy is a puzzle to me but it probably enables DMX to dominate the distributor and obtain better margins.
Italchimici's web site is at <www.italchimici.com>.
Anyone have more current information on this company and - did we receive any signing/upfront payment? Fox.
