Thanks for your reply. I did install the HP, and all is well. As I said, the installation CD was wonderfully clear. Here's a post script question. Half way through the installation, it drifted into my head that I'd read on this thread that before installing new programs, you should run your EndItAll to shut your other programs down. The CD didn't remind me to do that, and I didn't remember myself, and all seemed to go smoothly anyway. Did I really read that here or am I hallucinating?
