Parents have the right and duty to raise their kids as best they can, and to instill a sense of right, wrong, and morality. I don't know the fellow in question, obviously, but read an article in the local paper. He is an emergency room doctor in Sacramento, and has strong beliefs.

Whether his beliefs in atheism are right or wrong is beside the issue. Whether he strongly pushed his lawsuit is beside the issue. Whether he moved from a more, shall I say, less flexible state such as FL to CA is beside the issue.

So, you are saying that children who have dogmatic parents are equivalent to the parents of suicide bombers? That puts a lot of the religious right smack into the same boat.

Quite honestly there have be situations that involved the treatment of my wife or children by others that I found issue with and there would have been nothing I would have enjoyed more than giving the offending party the pleasure of this former Marine's company. To a person so inclined it is not difficult to legally exact retribution for a perceived offence. I have not however, ever yielded to such vindictive imaginations. There is a reason and that reason is that I love my family. For me to give a minor infraction more weight than it deserves is not going to help my family and I cannot expect the world to treat my family the same as I would. Undoubtedly, Mr. Newdow is quite pleased with himself. After all, the other children saying the Pledge in its current form made his daughter feel so uncomfortable. Certainly, his daughter is much more comfortable going to school now after the nationwide stink "daddy" made. Mr. Newdow is self serving and intolerant, but worse yet, he is a pathetic parent who seeks to excuse his intolerable behavior because of his so-called love for his daughter.

Thanks goodness there are still 100's of thousands of Israeli's that still think the CHURCH AND STATE SHOULD BE SEPARATE!
