...... regarding Soros losses ? was told long time ago by people familiar with the Quantum fund and his investments in Eastern Europe and Russia. He let his fund to get agressive in dot.com related stocks after he underperformed from 1997 to 1998/9

the truth is that by the mid 90 thies he was more interested in young Eastern European chicks and swinging with the European bankers. Since he is more in Europe as a self-proclaimed "philanthropist" than in New York.

He made some money on the short side last year but not sure how he is doing this year.

...... as to his assessment ........ he always makes those statements AFTER he has a position ..... the issue is which one <GGG>
