Don, good article. I think it comes down to the fact that there is no free lunch. If more mortgages are provided than can actually be afforded, then they have to rob from other sectors. Of course, I don't blame Fannie and Freddie. They are in the free lunch business. I blame Congress and the Fed for not checking them on the turn and pulling back a bit on the reins. Odd that the guy in charge of Fannie is named Raines. <g>
