Apple dishes up rack-mounted server By Joe Wilcox Staff Writer, CNET News.com July 1, 2002, 8:55 AM PT Apple Computer has begun shipping its Xserve rack-mounted server, as the company looks to bolster its position in the corporate market and with companies interested in delivering digital media content over the Web. The Cupertino, Calif.-based company in May unveiled Xserve, which runs Unix-based Mac OS X. The company made the Xserve announcement Monday.
