The Leica is around $800, yes I've checked out the Coolpix's and may very well still go with one. The Leica fits my hands a little better, and I think the Leica lens would be excellent for architectural type photography. It will get a lot of use photographing my gardens.

Glad to hear that you like the Coolpix, I'm sure it is great. I love Nikon products, I have an N80.

edit...the Coolpix 5000, again expensive, but that really feels lik ea camera in ones hand..
