I do not believe communism is dead at all. In fact, it has simply gone underground, or as is the case in China, just uses capitalism to please the masses while keeping the party firmly in control.
Personally I do not think it's absolutely necessary to have the words under god in the Pledge of Allegiance, but with the words or without them, anyone in any classroom already has the right not to participate, so what the former New Jersey citizen did out in California trying to ban the Pledge via the court was absolutely unnecessary IMO.

I think you missed the point by a wide mile here... "under God" was put into the Pledge as a reference to the Declaration of Independence, that our country was "founded on the principle that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator," I thought that was obvious and didn't need an explanation... in other words, the words serve as a guard rail to remind us of the birth rights of all Americans... that's why it's there, and I fully expect the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn that moronic decision.....
