<<the crime is too close to Bush & Cheney>>

jw: I haven't seen many crimes close to Bush or Cheney get investigated very aggressively...IMO, they both may have some questionable skeletons in the closet and don't want too much to come out. If The Washington Post really did its homework watch out. For now, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt BUT if they don't work hard to hold corrupt corporate execs accountable for their actions The U.S. will pay a huge price. The War on Terrorism has provided a great distraction BUT I would claim that the War to restore confidence in our markets is just AS IMPORTANT. JMHO.

regards,

Scott (who has been Independent and is quickly becoming apolitical <G>)

<<far too much white collar crime to investigate and prosecute>>

You can say that again...The Justice Dept and SEC would have to hire hundreds of very talented lawyers to make this happen...Right now we can barely fund Amtrak so I'm wondering where the money is going to come from....Of course Congress did recently pass a new defense bill for over $420 Billion --> there must be some serious waste in it...why don't we just borrow a billion from the Defense Dept. and use it to clean up the corruption in our marketplace -- this might actually be a good investment...=)
