The statement was qualified. I wrote:
all the conservatives who say that modern judges must channel the spirits of the founding fathers

Notice that it does not refer to all conservatives, just all of the conservatives who are anal retentive about original intent. The fact that Jewel chose to pull a fraction of the quote out of context in order to dodge the issue is a real straw man attempt.
