Not only did Sharon and 1000 troops march around the Temple Mount in a clear statement that Israel intended to take it by force if it could not take it by negotiating trickery, but the next day his snipers fired on unarmed Palestinian protesters, killing at least half a dozen and wounding many more. The first blood of this Intifada (uprising) was drawn by Israel.
