GZ,
There are many people who are only looking at what they want to see. They disregard the rest, since it would cause them to look at the situation from multiple points of view. At some point, we must let these misguided people rant all they want, with the understanding that you can't change people's minds when they aren't open to new ideas.

It's still important to refute bogus claims and expose the BS for what it is. You are probably wasting your time trying to shed some light on a number of these poster's minds. They have already made their minds up and nothing will change their warped view of this sorry situation.

OK, you have no real argument and so you resort to argument by other means. Try and see problems from different points of view. I did and have changed my view on the Palestinian question. I should have done this a long time ago but didn't because of my background(NYC liberal). There is enough information on this board to see this problem in different ways.
Similarly with the Pledge. Try and understand the problem from another point of view. "under God" is a product of the cold war. The cold war is over. You may believe that "under God" is a direct result of the D of I but then you need to resolve the question of separation of church and state and its relation to the D of I. Which document takes priority? My backwards head and heart say that separation of church and state takes priority.
