You're out of your league Watson....the percentage of dopant that makes silicon a dopant is extremely small....the chemicals used to produce such dopants are, however, used in quantities that make them dangerous in their local environment.

I'm not arguing that solar cells are a viable major energy source to replace fossil fuels....I just wanted to correct your naivete....
