<<The bull market was exhilarating and all-consuming for many. It brought none of the pain and
disappointment that has been visited on investors since early 2000. One suspects that the hangover from
the years of unparalleled returns and speculation is far from over. Huge binges require long
convalescences.>>
The problem here has been and will continue to be that of learning, which gets to be more difficult each day ones age passes 20..
Words do not cut it, we ( or I ) needed to feel the pain (of looking for a bottom or fearful losses)
Because this has been an age of optimism as represented guests on Wall Street Week who on behalf of their funds or companies, continue to recommend trading or investing in equities
As a bear, I will no longer be welcomed to the thread, and any CEO who is not optimistic , or does not have a plan for "recovery" will get fired.
The old rules investing rules are dead but with no precedents or alternatives established investors as a group
will continue to use those old mind-sets and hopes even as we go down.
But there will be great opportunities for profit in the new era of investing for those with the goal of finding the ways. Options can provide huge leverage. The great volatility can provide opportunity. A consulting company
finding jobs for displaced brokers and CEO's can be profitable. Food service providers to prisons should do well. And lawyers are making out like bandits
