I just watched that a couple of days ago. Hadn't the least idea what the hell they were mumbling about for half the film. For one thing, we were playing a DVD, and the top volume on them is too low. Is that true of other people's DVD's? I enjoyed it quite a lot, but didn't absolutely adore or admire it, and didn't see why the maid who was fired didn't tell the son that Helen Mirren was his mother, except that happy endings are frowned upon, of course. I thought it was a very well directed (and interestingly directed) film except for the incomprehensibility part.

Lantana was intriguing and interesting, though imo less interesting than it aspired to be. It holds your attention, though. It wasn't by any means a great film, but it's much better than most independent films. When our cable company got IFC we thought, OH GOOD, we'll see some interesting films! haha.

I'm going to put my migraine to bed now.
