The medical business includes Kendall, too, and he also ignored the plastics business worth a few billion. And even if they overpaid for the likes of AMP and US Surgical, those companies are leaders. This is most definitely a "strong stomach" investment, but there's real value here, on a two or three year time horizon.

I think the potential for accounting concerns is real. I sold some products as a supplier to JT Baker about 10 years ago and two corporate transfers later I am still getting correspondence from the controller's office.
Maybe their just keeping the appropriate records in order or more likely their paperwork is untidy. An inactive vendor should be purged from their accounting records.
