While I'm not annoyed by the Cantor ads (in fact, I find them strangely hypnotic, especially the music, and actually know, slightly, one of the guys who is in them, a guy who used to trade forex in another lifetime), I do wonder at their purpose. Other than to say to a CNBC audience that Cantor is trying to come back, what else is there? I mean, are we supposed to use eSpeed and trade bonds with Cantor? Isn't the Cantor clientele and counterparty group a pretty select group of commercial banks, investment banks, hedge funds and high level corporate treasury types?
