I think ego also plays a large part. Once a series of good calls brings them into the limelight, many start to think their calls can actually move the market. Take Softechie for instance. <g>

All these falling stars refused to see the obvious. Their arrogance and belief that they had become bigger than the markets was their downfall. And they were actually "bigger" for a while. Granville was the best at terrorizing markets, causing huge one day-swings up or down, and thought he was God . Where is he at now?
