Ridiculous! Tom thinks we're all better off with more terrorists on the loose. He thinks it's more cost effective:

"So I cannot think of any advantages to culling the 5000 to 10000 at the time. In general the smartest and most cunning would escape anyway and be free of the dumb feedme grunts."

>>> So answer me this: If it's such a financial 'burden' to imprison terrorists (or kill them), and we are better off leaving them roaming the World free... then why do we lock up any at all down in Cuba?

>>> Don't you think the estimated 3,000 - 5,000 al Qaeda / Taliban / ISI big wigs that were evacuated from Kunduz (after allied air operations were ordered to not challenge the flights) might harm us some day?

>>> If one more terrorist attack on the order of 9-11 is perpetrated by any of these escaped radical big wigs... don't you think that damage would vastly out-weigh the cost to feed these jerks in a prison? (Or the cost of the single bullet to the head that the Northern Alliance was likely to offer to many of them at the fall of Kunduz?)

>>> And what about INTELLIGENCE to help protect us from future attacks? Unlike the relatively low-level grunts imprisoned down in Cuba, many of these terrorists evacuated in the 'Airlift of Evil' were among the cream of the terrorist crop... the planners, the movers, the financiers.

>>> Don't you think the quality of the intelligence we could have gained from them would have helped in the War effort?

>>> Instead, they are now free to roam the World... we don't even know their names!

>>> Tom, I hope you are a better IT person than you are a political scientist... or war planner.
