No, it can't be a major attack on US mainland on 4th July. First they don't have surprise effect. Second .... no real means. Third.... not so brilliant. Forth ... had they had means of attack sooner, they wouldn't have waited, while taking constant secret hits or at least disturbances. My IMHO is a suicide Cole like attack against an oil tanker in the Suez canal, rather than Panama, because of closeness to rings and no profiling issue. Not that it'll change much for more than a month. They could even mix the boat with some waste material gathered around nuclear dumps, from hospitals and like, just to use as a human repellant and mass media main attractor. Now, the US has 1800 troops in the Sinai monitoring the peace between Israel and Egypt (Powell Paid). I hope they do some jobs for the Egyptians too, for they do have the means to keep the canal Qaeda clean on more than a hundred miles. A canal you are going to need to bring clean water and cookies to the boys doing Mister Saddam, after the heat waves that is, because your leaders are human, and efficient.
