Duke: I agree with you they are much safer putting it into mortgages given their current spreads and you are correct these are not highly efficient assets. I agree that their is a qualitative cash squeeze in terms of loan liquidity because they are still trying to pay for Argentina and WCOM,Enron,dotcom. They have been raising fees with regularity. They are definitely not making it easu for the wheels of commerce to spin freely. What gets me is the the NAZ's thought that the last 5 years of MSFT's profits don't count and that they will never make another cent and that they don't have 40 bill. in the bank. This reduction of the cost of financial assets is beyond belief but the market at the moment as they say is always 100% correct but the fear factor premium is huge.JFD
