It's obvious when you think of it. Supporting the US dollar is supposed to "maintain confidence" in US financial securities. Now there is no confidence regardless of the strength of the dollar, so by strengthening the dollar it makes a synthetic rally for the overseas guys take advantage of and sell into!
Everyone else sells the rallies in this market so why not them, even though the rally is in the exchange rate not the underlying security...
