I think we may have had this discussion before.

In any case, air conditioning is pretty common up here in Canada, especially where I live -- which is not one of the most muggy parts of the country. My daughter, who does live in one of the more hot and humid parts, recently got a window unit, much to the amazement of her neighbours. (Why would you want one of them things?)

I always assumed central air was mandatory in the USA.
