'Brothers To The Rescue' Takes Unusual Stand On Migrants MIAMI, 7:44 p.m. EDT July 2, 2002 - A South Florida Cuban rescue group is taking an unusual position when it comes to migrants fleeing Fidel Castro's Cuba. The group, which has assisted refugees who flee the island -- often in flimsy rafts -- since 1991 says it will not help those who leave Cuba as part of a rumored Castro plan to flood the United States with immigrants.
