Cingular will announce an acquisition of AT&T Wireless

Well it did not happen - at least not that I have heard. But if it does, will BellSouth put (I am assuming as the minority partner it has such an option) its Cingular ownership to SBC and use the money to go after Sprint?

With what is going on with WCOM, Feds may have to relax rules or see major telecom companies fold. If Cingular and AWE get an OK to merge, could they stop BellSouth from going after Sprint?
