Really there is only a possibility of of those from the two major parties being elected at the national level. Sure, there have been a couple of Libertarians from Alaska & there is Bernie Sanders currently but 3 of thousands in the last 50+ years are rather long odds. When both of these major parties have deserted the the concept of total private firearms ownership prohibition, it is an important change.
