Europe is slowly becoming a superpower of their own and if the US feels it can go it alone, IMO it is in for a bad surprise. Nobody could have imagined a single European Economy let alone a single European currency 10 years ago. The US said it would never happen. But happen it did. 10-20 years from now you could be looking at an ECU that includes all the Eastern countries, Russia, Turkey, with more expansion to go further east with China, Mid East, India etc...etc... The US then will look like a freaking isolated island.

It is funny how arrogant and myopic our government really is. It almost looks like the start of "the fall of the Roman empire".
