The stocks in the portfolio were chosen on the fundamentals for long term value. We were hopeful that "long term" would be shorter than it will be. The focus is still on the fundamentals. I am interested in watching how those choices turn out in the long run. I would not mind losing the continuity of the spreadsheet by adding more cash in order to avoid margin sales, because the focus would still be on choosing stocks by the fundamentals. Margin selling is making choices that are not based on the fundamentals.

But I have interest also in a portfolio with a larger number of stocks and less concentration in any one, because the risk of any one company crashing is clearly bigger than most had thought.

I have the greatest respect for the regulars on SI, and for those who make public choices.
