In our schools they are still trying to ban books like Catcher in the Rye and Harry Potter, I don't know of any PC bannings.

I think vouchers will allow people to be even more insular and narrow minded than they are now. I think vouchers will allow people to segregate themselves ideologically, and I think that is a very bad idea. Just my opinion, but I've thought about it a lot, and am not likely to change it. I want to see more equality in the schools, not more diversity. I want to see a rational educational program taught rigorously in all schools. I would like to see all schools have text books, computers, working heating and plumbing, low lead levels, and non-toxic soil for children to play in. The schools in East St Louis for example were horrible to read about. I was told they are still horrible, even though they have been the subject of expose after expose.

I am for rationally fixing public education, and I am for keeping it totally public.
