...am important concept in shorting the homebuilders & those Financials that benefited via this refinance boom - is that - even IF rates remain low for some time to come... the refinance market was "churned"... new home sales may stay steady, or even grow... but, the short plays on those individual companies most benefitting via the REFINANCE boom - will NOT.

...those are the companies to short imo.

As far as the Homebuilders... scalping is good and its a when, not if scenario that they'll fold as well... they became a defensive haven for money flows... as soon as the broad market recovers - Fund Mgrs will take HEAVY profits and rotate out of the Homebuilders ...that's when to lay hard & heavy on them.
