Holly water logged batman. 16 inches is quite a lot of rain!

I remember about 8 years back, we got just under 8 inches of rain in a 24 hour period(shattered any previous records)

It was bad for us as we rarely get more than an inch or two max during any 24 hour period.

Those who are on sewer found their basements flooded with raw sewage. Those in low lying areas(not me :)) were also taking on large amounts of water.

One neat thing did come of it though.

A frriend and myself took a couple rafts down a normally seasonal creek. It was like a river but worse because the currents were all over the place. I lost(and reclaimed) my raft on three occasions that day. Almost drowned once, wha forced under water and couldn't get out of a swirl.
But the both of us eventually made a successful run of about 10 miles to the mouth of the creek spitting us out into the lake.
One of my more memorable times since moving back here in '91
