Keep the religion out of government, and the government out of religion. Religion and belief in God are separate things. Religion incorporates specific beliefs and practices. Belief in God doesn't. You are not going to get every symbol of belief out of government, no matter how hard you try. Nor, IMO, should you. What government should be out of is fostering specific, particular religions -- Puritanism over Quakerism, Protestantism over Catholicism. But in their own way, agnosticism and atheism are also religions, and imposing them on others is every bit as offensive to me as imosing Baha'i belief would be.
