re: Japan Update - Shimadzu (7701.J) Shimadzu, a leading global scientific instrumentation, aviation technology and semiconductor equipment firm has been raking up its outlook for the current (FY2003) and next year. biz.yahoo.co.jp The firm is now expecting to earn above 12 yen per share vs. 8 yen in its prior outlook for this year and 15 yen vs. 13 yen in the year thereafter. Consequently some upgrades were issued. No "sell" recommendation anymore, but market perform twice and a BUY once. I feel a positive dividend policy change may be just around the corner.. Stock has been consolidating its upmove recently but didn't give back much of its gains - now at 345 Yen.. best wishes CROSSY
