Re: so screw it.. in the spirit of too much when too little is not enough, wreck away.

If I were to merely toss out little bon mots and tea sandwich sized servings of sedition, no one would pay the least bit of attention. BOMBAST, my man. Bombast works.

But I'm now watching the News Hour and I'm horrified at the emphasis on the police state zealotry that they are portraying. Last night, instead of a history show about how this nation was founded and why, they instead put on a display of imperial power, gushing for an hour about the majesty of Air Force One. Spare me. That's not what Independence Day is supposed to be all about. The trappings of imperial executive privilege leave me cold. "What's in it for me?" - I might be tempted to ask. The old U.S. was much better, at least there was the Dream that Americans could all have a chance to succeed. Now we seem to be all about terror, control, threats and power. Not a pretty picture.

And did I mention the recent howls of the callers on C-SPAN who've had their 401(k)s robbed by Bush's co-conspirators. Now that ought to be a topic for discussion on a market thread. Don't you think?
